Suzette Stitch: Crochet Stitch Dictionary
I know I say this every time I show you a new stitch, but I just can’t help it. I LOVE the Suzette Stitch. It’s again, one of my favorite stitches and that is how the Suzette Baby Blanket was born! I love how simple it is, yet it brings so much texture and coziness!
All you need to know for this stitch is how to single crochet and double crochet. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Materials:
- I used a chunkier yarn and a 6mm/J crochet hook. (You can use any weight yarn with the size hook that corresponds with that yarn)
Stitch Guide:
- Ch [chain]
- Sc [single crochet]
- Dc [double crochet]
- Sk st [skip stitch]
- St(s) [stitch(es)]
- Rep [repeat]
Foundation:
- Chain in multiples of 2

Suzette Stitch with Step-by-Step Pictures!
Make a slip knot and ch 20.
Row 1:
Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Dc into the same ch. Sk next ch. [Sc into the NEXT ch, dc into the same ch. Sk next ch.] Rep [ ] down the row until the last two st. Sk 2nd to last st and sc into the last st. Ch 1, turn your work.
Row 2:
Sc into the very first st (the base of your ch), dc into the same st. Sk next st. [Sc into the next st, dc into the same st. Sk next st.] Rep [ ] until the last two stitch. Sk next st. Sc into last st.
And that is it! Really.
Repeat Row 2 until you feel comfortable with this pattern! And then take the time to make something for yourself 😉 If you need a few project ideas, I think this stitch would look beautiful as a dishcloth! That’s a quick project you could work up and all you would need is some cotton yarn and this beautiful pattern right here!
