I’m pretty sure I say this about every one of my patterns, but this faux fur hooded scarf is one of my favorites to date! It’s one of those designs where I pictured exactly what I wanted and to my surprise, it came out exactly as I planned. Don’t let this fool you, it doesn’t happen often!

This pattern is my first of, hopefully many, collaborations with Lion Brand Yarn and I’m so honored to be working with them. I’m sure that helped with my determination to make sure this pattern was the absolute best it could be.

How to Crochet with Go for Faux Thick and Quick Yarn

Earlier I said this pattern is beginner friendly and you probably were thinking, “girl you crazy”. But I promise it’s not as scary as it looks.

The great thing about Go for Faux Thick and Quick is that it is really easy to work with and it’s also easy to feel for your stitches. But I know if you’ve never worked on it (and trust me, I struggled with it at first too), it’s nice to have some tips to go off of.

Finished Measurements

  • Scarf About 8 x 74 in. (20.5 x 188 cm)
  • Hood About 10 x 16 in. (25.5 x 40.5 cm)

Gauge

  • 4 sc = about 4 in. (10 cm)

Notes

  • Scarf is worked in one piece. Ends of Scarf are folded and seamed to create pockets.
  • Hood is worked separately, then sewn to Scarf.

Faux Fur Hooded Scarf with Pockets Pattern Instructions

SCARF

Chain 9.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across – you’ll have 8 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.  

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 74 in. (188 cm) from beginning.

Fasten off and cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

HOOD

Chain 11.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across – you’ll have 10 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.  

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 16 in. (40.5 cm).

Fasten off and cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FINISHING

Pockets

Following diagram, fold each end of Scarf back about 8 1/2 in. (21.5 cm). Sew sides of each pocket.

Hood

Fold hood in half to make an 8 x 10 in. (20.5 X 25.5 cm) piece.

Seam one end for top of hood.

Match center of hood to center of Scarf, then sew hood to Scarf.

Weave in ends.
