Crochet Wine Bottle Cozy | Free Crochet Pattern

If you’re giving the gift of wine for Christmas this year, it’s WAY more fun to decorate the wine bottles first! In this tutorial you will learn how to crochet a wine bottle cozy and how to crochet the waistcoat stitch. This is a free crochet pattern that works up quickly and it’s a great way to use up the yarn in your stash! If you’re not gifting this for Christmas, that’s okay! You can use any colors because wine bottle cozies make awesome gifts ANY time of the year.

By the way, I know this free crochet pattern is for a crochet wine bottle cozy but it can really be sized to fit ANY type of bottle. It can be customized to fit a water bottle cozy, beer cozy, tumbler cozy, etc. I go into more detail inside the video tutorial, but all you have to do is add or take away increase rounds from the base of the bottle cozy.

I hope you enjoy today’s tutorial and be sure to tag me @sigonimacaroni if you decide to make this pattern or any of the patterns in the 12 Days of Crochet Christmas series!

Notes

  • If you’re not using the same yarn I am, use a hook size that is 2 sizes larger than the recommended hook size on the skein you choose. Because the waistcoat stitch is a tight stitch, this will help to keep your hand from cramping.
  • Instead of cutting your yarn at each color change, carry it up as you go. They won’t be looking on the inside!
